"Le Flux" is an album and short film created by Christa Ebert (Uno Lady) while in residency at Chateau Orquevaux in Orquevaux, France. Hypnotic loops, dreamy vocals, and nature sounds are arranged into short lyricless arias somewhere east of ambient, west of girl-group. The last track, "Let it Flow," is an exception to the instrumental rule; echoing the title, its lyrics reflect a spiritual principle as well as Ebert's practice of improvisational singing, looping, and harmonizing.
The film, taken across Europe on the same trip that spawned the album, follows Uno Lady through France, Switzerland, and Germany. Rambling through forest scenes and castle ruins, the layered and effected visuals -part travel diary, part video art- are cut from the same cloth as the music: haunting, poppy, hazy, and strange.
